There are various types of materials in the market. Such most general and common materials in the market are: Wood, metal, plastics and ceramics

There are various ways to classify materials based on their properties:

The various states they are in( as in Solids, Liquids and Gaseous state )

Elements mixtures and compounds.

Metals and non-metals.

Electrical conductors and insulators.

Things that burn in air/oxygen and non-flammable materials.

Food and non-food.

Magnetic and non-magnetic.

Soluble or (almost) insoluble in water.

Acid and alkaline. (This excludes most materials)

Sustainability

It is defined as the capability of the material to endure.


So sustainability basically means the ability to withstand strong forces, scratches and thermal conductivity. It is very dependent on the physical properties of matter. We can conclude that sustainability is somehow interdepent with physical properties of matter


Lets elaborate further if we say that a product is sustainable. What does it exactly means? It in whole means that the product is able to withstand the forces of nature. Like it is strong, not hard and it is light etc. In the dictionary, its definition goes something like this"able to be maintained at a certain rate or level".


A sustainable environment is whereby people are able to live, work, eat and play freely without being affected by the forces of the nature.  Thus, the importance for a sustainable in layman terms, is that it is our life. Without the sustainability of the environment. We mankind would never survive or existed on Planet Earth.
